For a fascinating Aboriginal cultural experience, join an experienced Yura guide for an entertaining and informative through Sacred Canyon, a significant site to the Adnyamathanha people.
This walk takes you to along a dry river bed to an Aboriginal engraving site where your Yura guide will explain how these engravings were made and what they signify. Learn about the engravings, landscape and culture as interpreted by a traditional owner.
This tour consists of an easy to moderate 2km walk with some uneven ground. Tour duration is approximately 3 hours, inclusive of a 30-minute drive in each direction.
This is a Tag Along Tour - please meet your Yura Guide at Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time with your vehicle, ready to follow them to this significant site that is only accessible with an Adnyamathanha Tour Guide. This site is accessed by a dirt track which is all-wheel drive friendly, but high clearance is required, and you will need to drive to the conditions. There is corrugation, some dips and creek crossings on this 30-minute drive.
